A former Warriors player has pleaded guilty in court after a dog he owned attacked a child earlier this year.
Chiefs fullback Glen Masiva Fisiiahi, 25, appeared in the Auckland District Court on Wednesday after an incident involving his pit bull, Son-Son, which took place in March.
Fisiiahi - whose on-field nickname is "the flying fish" - and his wife Leuina Tema both pleaded guilty to the Auckland Council-laid offence.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of $3000 plus medical costs and mandatory destruction of the animal.
According to court documents, the couple owned a "honey and white" male pit bull that attacked a child on Rowena Crescent, Glen Innes.
