STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP ROLE
Quality Roading Services (Wairoa) Ltd (QRS), a Council Controlled Trading Organisation (CCTO) has been 100% owned by the Wairoa District Council since 1994. The company is well established, with a wealth of civil engineering knowledge, expertise and experience. QRS's speciality is construction and maintenance of all types of civil construction, infrastructure and roading projects and quarry management throughout the Wairoa and Gisborne regions. Customers include the Wairoa District Council and a wide range of private sector clients. The company has a workforce of over 100 people.
Reporting to the Board, the role has responsibility for implementation of the strategy for further growth and diversification. The key focus of the role is to lead the operational performance and continuous improvement of QRS's business, whilst further developing capability within the operational leadership team.
Applicants will be tertiary qualified and must possess a proven track record of having successfully grown and operationally managed a construction/contracting/infrastructure services business. Exceptional leadership and relationship management skills are essential along with the ability to hit the ground running and swiftly establish credibility with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience in leading an autonomous business unit and ideally, reporting to a board is desirable.
