There has been a chemical leak in Timaru this morning.
The Fire Service was called to Timaru Port after reports of a suspected ammonia leak around 4.50am.
It was not known at the time where the leak was coming from, Tim Reynolds, from the Fire Service southern communications centre, said.
However, the leak had since been identified and the source isolated, he said.
There were no reports of injuries.
