A bucket of cyanide powder was among arsenic, paraquat and other chemicals dumped at a Safeguard Dannevirke 2003 environmental initiative.
Last weekend's two-day amnesty encouraged people to deliver unwanted toxic materials to the Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council base on the outskirts of Dannevirke.
Project co-ordinator Bob Dresser said a variety of substances came in, including oil, car batteries, paint and sprays.
