Chelsea Crowe's big day out

HAMILTON - Chelsea Crowe of Taupo is only just coming down to earth after her day with Hollywood's glitterati at the Academy Awards.

Honor Lymburn rang her 11-year-old daughter in Los Angeles yesterday after Chelsea accompanied her favourite uncle and best actor nominee, Russell Crowe, to the Oscars extravaganza.

Chelsea told her mother that she had had an absolute ball. "She said she met Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster."

Chelsea's big day started at 10 am with an Oscars lunch, followed by entry into the ceremony in front of the world's cameras, six hours of presentations, then the Governors Ball.

Chelsea will be home tomorrow or on Friday. Her mother has recorded television coverage and press clippings about her daughter's adventure. - NZPA
