Baking can be fun, and tasty too, as Blessing Tovia, 6, and Priya Yaxley, 4, discovered at a charity chefs event for sick children and their families.
Guided by sous chef Jeff Shute, of The Food Store, the two youngsters, siblings of Starship childrens hospital patients, helped place strawberries on chocolate brownie.
The sweet treat was on the menu for the Chefs Night at Ronald McDonald House Auckland, a charity-run home away from home for Starship patients and their families.
The event drew top chefs from restaurants including The Food Store and Euro and they spent the afternoon preparing a feast for 50 families.
Our chefs are honoured to be attending and cooking a feast for the families and the whole team is looking forward to being able to bring a little joy to the families for an evening, said Nigel Reid, head chef manager of Euros parent group, Nourish.
