Canterbury residents protested today over the "lack of action" by authorities such as the Earthquake Commission (EQC) and insurance companies.
About 300 demonstrators held placards and chanted as they gathered in an empty lot near Christchurch City Council Headquarters.
Protestor Chris Fulton said what's got them to this point isn't leadership - its the spirit of the people.
"The people of this region deserve far better treatment than what they haven't received over the past two years. So I say to the powers that be, stand up for your people, and do right by them."
Lyttelton resident Deborah Crittenden said its coming up to two years since the earthquake and they've been waiting too long.
