The Baron family of Dalefield featured prominently in the mini classes at the New Zealand Motocross Grand Prix in Woodville last weekend.
Six-year-old Charlize Baron was in a class of her own in the 50cc division, making absolutely sure of the national title by winning all three of her races and also recording the fastest lap time in each of those events.
Brother Caleb Baron, 9, didn't have quite the same good fortune in what was his first outing in the 65cc championship division.
He did well to qualify in the top 25 and also had good reason to be satisfied with his 11th placing in the first of the championship races and his 12th next time up.
Then after starting his third race very promisingly he came down hard on a jump and punctured a front tyre which slowed his progress.
