A proposal to build a multi-purpose sports complex in Carterton's Howard Booth Park has been given the thumbs up by the ANZ Bank.
Banking staff Rose Stevens and Carol Rowntree, from the Masterton branch, are putting their sporting energies behind the project, which aims to promote sport in the community through a central facility, by hosting a charity golf day at Carterton Golf Club on Friday, March 22.
Proceeds will go to the Howard Booth Park Sports Trust to help progress the initial concept and test its viability.
Golf-day co-ordinator Rose Stevens said ANZ was really excited about the project.
"It's all about investing in our communities and promoting healthy, active lifestyles. This ties in with ANZ's own commitment to support local community-based initiatives.
