KEY POINTS:
Charities are going to be better off when John Key is sworn in as prime minister and starts drawing his salary.
Mr Key said in August he would give away part of his salary if he won the election.
He already donates some of the $233,000 he gets as Leader of the Opposition.
Since July last year the prime minister's salary has been $375,000.
When Bill English becomes deputy prime minister he will be on $264,500 and other cabinet ministers $233,000.
Ministers outside cabinet earn $195,700 and the basic pay for MPs is $126,200.
They all receive a range of expenses and allowances and ministers get houses in Wellington.
Mr Key, named in this year's Rich List as worth $50 million, has not disclosed how much he gives to charity, or which charities benefit.
