Assault charges against two men charged after a man fell to his death from the balcony of an inner city Auckland apartment have been upgraded to manslaughter.
Stewart Paul Kingi, 57, of Glen Innes in the eastern suburbs, died from blunt force head trauma after he fell from a balcony in Point England on March 10.
Two men, aged 64 and 37, were initially charged with assaulting him and the charges were upgraded to manslaughter ahead of their reappearance in Auckland District Court today.
