A Sydney business is to be charged for allegedly exporting 25kg of seahorses, dried and ground to a powder, from Australia to New Zealand.
A spokesman for Australian Customs said seahorses were often used in traditional Asian medicines. People involved in the trade faced jail terms of up to 10 years and fines of up to $A110,000 ($136,000).
