Charges against pilots withdrawn

Two Queenstown pilots charged with the same drink-driving offence had the charge withdrawn by police at Queenstown District Court this morning.

Cameron Milford Hoyle, 23, and Phillip Parker, 24, were charged with drink-driving and dangerous driving on March 30.

Mr Hoyle, Mr Parker and a third pilot, Canadian Ian Edward Beatty, 28, were all charged with the same drink-driving offence, following an alleged dangerous driving incident in which police failed to establish who was driving.

Mr Beatty had the charge withdrawn in Invercargill District Court on Friday.
