A Crown prosecutor arrested for shoplifting while on a break in a court case can now be named.
Emily Jane Toner, 33, chose not to seek suppression when her case was called in the North Shore District Court yesterday.
Toner, who works for Auckland law firm Meredith Connell, allegedly tried to leave the New World supermarket near the same court last Tuesday without paying for almost $200 of food items.
Her lawyer, Paul Wicks, refused to comment on Toner's personal circumstances or say if she would defend the charge.
