Police have charged a young woman who they say fled a Blenheim police checkpoint in March after failing a breath test then crashed into a car, killing a woman.
There was no pursuit.
She was charged with causing the death of Penelope Rae Phillips, 51, while driving with excess blood alcohol, and would appear in the Blenheim District Court on June 21, the Marlborough Express said.
