Police have withdrawn a charge of being a party to the murder of Raymond Piper against the teenage son of a man who has admitted murdering Mr Piper on the Kapiti Coast early this year.
In a high-profile missing person case, Mr Piper, 23, disappeared from the home of his former partner, Hanna Lark, in Paraparaumu in May. His body was found at the weekend in a shallow grave nearby bush in the Maungakotukutuku Valley.
In the Porirua District Court today police withdrew a charge against Louie Anderson, 17, of being a party to the murder of Mr Piper.
His father, Ainsley Brent Anderson, 51, pleaded guilty to murder when he appeared in Porirua District Court yesterday and police said he was the one who led them to the body. He will be sentenced in November.
Susan Bragger, 44, of Paraparaumu and Sean Hawke, 50, of Tauranga - Ms Lark's mother and uncle - also face charges of intent to cause grievous bodily harm and causing grievous bodily harm to Mr Piper. They did not appear in court today but were remanded to November 11 for a plea evaluation.
Mr Piper's body will be taken to Ruatoki in the Bay of Plenty for his funeral at the Taurau Marae.
