KEY POINTS:
Following presentation evenings at the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the organising committee of the BMW Auckland Regatta Week has made a number of significant changes to the Notice of Race for the event.
The regatta will now be held in the Eastern Beach/Tamaki Straight area.
Neither the IRC National Championships nor the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Club Championships will be held as part of the regatta week. These championships will now be run later as separate events.
Entries for A, B, C, D, E and L divisions will be accepted under both IRC and PHRF handicapping systems. Skippers with valid IRC and PHRF certificates in these divisions can enter under both if they wish. For those entering under just one handicap, the entry fee per boat remains at $75. The entry fee for a combined IRC and PHRF handicap entry will be $100 per boat. There has been no change to the crew entry fee.
If there are four or more IRC entries per division in A, B, C, D, E or L divisions, results will be produced for both IRC and PHRF. The divisional winners in IRC and PHRF will be eligible to progress to the New Zealand BMW Sailing Cup.
The organisers will now also accept entries for the Restricted Class (non-spinnaker cruising division) from skippers who do not hold a PHRF certificate.
