A national training programme for people who read cervical smears will be established in Christchurch, four years after it was recommended by the Gisborne cervical cancer screening inquiry.
The programme will cover pathologists, scientists and technicians in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, in a co-operative venture between Canterbury Health Laboratories and Medlab South.
