Stephanie Gundersen-Reid, chief executive of Wairarapa and Manawatu Chambers of Commerce, has landed a national role with her election to the board of New Zealand Chambers of Commerce & Industry (NZCCI).
NZCCI consists of 29 independent Chambers of Commerce, representing more than 22,000 members. It is governed by nine elected directors made up of the chief executive officers of the Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago chambers, and an additional director from each region.
Michael Barnett, director of NZCCI, is delighted to welcome Ms Gundersen-Reid on to the national board. "We look forward to her contribution to the NZCCI network in this role. Her priority will be to provide an independent voice for the small and medium-sized Chambers which make up a significant part of the Chamber network."
Ms Gundersen-Reid said she is looking forward to the challenge of using her governance experience at a national level, whilst remaining focused on looking after the interests of her local members.
"I'm delighted to be elected to the board of NZCCI which acts as a strong voice and advocate for all of its members. Part of my responsibility will be to represent the interests of the 25 chambers which operate outside of the four main centres and my experiences in Wairarapa and Manawatu will be invaluable," she said.
