A young cyclist was hit by a car in central Auckland about 8.15am today.
The man, who looked to be in his late teens or early 20s, was cycling down Vincent St towards the city when a car turning right into a building collided with him, a policeman at the scene said.
The man was flat on his back for about 20 minutes before an ambulance arrived and took him to hospital.
He appeared to have cuts and bruises and was able to walk to the nearby ambulance.
The driver of the car was interviewed by police.
