Statistics New Zealand will make Census population data available on its website today at no charge.
Statistics NZ has previously charged for much of its information, but under a 2007 Budget initiative much is now being made available for free, Statistics Minister Clayton Cosgrove says.
So far it has given out information that would previously have been worth $4 million.
