Closest result came in the Celtic v Kuranui College game with Celtic having to pull out all stops to get home 36-32. Sports Arena Carterton were also make to work overtime before beating Salute Greytown 38-33 but the other three matches were all clear cut, St Matthews Collegiate defeating Carterton Red 57-19, Gladstone All Blacks beating Harcourts 2 37-11 and Harcourts 1 thumping Wairarapa College 72-22.
