A Kaikoura motorist driving on the wrong side of the road leaned down to answer his cellphone, causing a collision which killed a Christchurch driver, a court has been told.
David Bowring, 38, pleaded guilty in Rangiora District Court to aggravated careless driving causing death. He will be sentenced on March 30.
Joanne Nancy Fairbrother, 32, was killed in the crash on May 26, 2004. Her daughter, then 13, was injured.
