Cell rules changed

Rotorua police have changed the way they monitor prisoners after the self-inflicted death of a suspect last year.

Anthony McGuire, 33, was arrested after a domestic dispute and put in the cells, but within hours he was dead.

Police say he was not searched and was let into the cell with personal items.
