More than a dozen people were hurt when a ceiling collapsed inside Auckland Airport today.
Ceiling tiles fell on Cathy Pacific check-in counters in the international terminal about 1pm, injuring up to 13 people - all ground staff.
Airport spokesman Haldane Dodd said the injured were not passengers.
The staff - ground handlers who did not work for Cathay - were taken to the airport's clinic for assessment but none was believed to be seriously injured.
Passengers checking in at the time of the collapse were moved to other counters and their plane left on time, Mr Dodd said.
Engineers were examining the ceiling to find out why it collapsed.
