Porirua police have released CCTV footage of a man who robbed a Tawa dairy armed with a carving knife at the weekend.
Detective James Withington said the man entered the Tawa Central Dairy about 8pm on Sunday and threatened the owner with the knife.
The owner ran behind the shop counter before fleeing to a neighbouring shop.
"We know that after the offender presented a knife at the diary owner ... he then ran towards the New World building site before discarding a jacket and a hooded sweatshirt near the Tawa Railway Station," Mr Withington said.
The sweatshirt was particularly distinctive and police hoped someone would recognise it or the offender.
