Users of rivers and lakes around Queenstown are being told to use caution over the next few days.
Levels have risen significantly after heavy rain hit the region over the past week.
Lake Wakatipu rose to 311.1 metres at the weekend - slightly below the 311.3 mark which would have seen water seep into Queenstown.
Otago Regional Council duty flood manager Nineva Vaitupu said boaties need to be cautious.
"Just for debris hanging around and washed down from swollen rivers, and just that the lakes are high, rivers are still high especially if they drain further down."
