Health officials are yet to determine what caused a stomach bug that left 168 University of Auckland students severely ill.
Students and staff at University Hall, a 442-bed complex in the city centre, began feeling ill on Thursday and by Good Friday more cases had been reported at Grafton, the Student Apartments and Whitaker Halls.
Auckland's Regional Public Health Service said some students went to hospital emergency departments but none were kept overnight.
Symptoms included vomiting, stomach cramps, headaches, chills, aching muscles and diarrhoea.
Laboratory results showed norovirus, but how the bug was introduced and spread was to be determined; investigations were ongoing.
