A home has collapsed as firefighters battled a large blaze threatening neighbouring properties in Thames early this morning.
A house on Rolleston St was "well involved" by a fire when emergency services arrived about 12.20am, fire communications spokesman Jaron Phillips said.
"While firefighters were battling the blaze the house has partially collapsed," Mr Phillips said.
"Shortly after it's apparently totally collapsed."
Firefighters managed to save the other homes under threat from the blaze.
Mr Phillips said no one was at the destroyed home when the fire started.
