Cause of death of man found by stream unclear

Police investigating the death of a young man whose body was found near a Hutt Valley stream say it is still unclear how he died.

The man, believed to be in his mid to late teens, was found dead by a passerby near Black Creek in Fullerton Grove, Wainuiomata, on Friday morning.

A post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday but the cause of death was still undetermined, Wellington police spokeswoman Victoria Evans said.

Police were expecting the full results within the next two days.

The man's name would be released once next of kin were advised.
