The Waikato Expressway team has a new recruit: Catty McCatface, a wayward kitten taken in at the Huntly project office.
"Morning team. Here's a bit of a different staff profile for you," a Waikato Expressway staff member posted to the NZTA-run Facebook page on Thursday morning.
"Meet Catty McCatface. Catty was found under a container at the project office and rescued by two staff members.
"After checking with nearby neighbours to see if they were missing a kitten, the project decided to adopt her."

The kitten was given her name after it was put to a vote in the office.
She was an approximately 4-month-old tabby weighing 1.5kg.
She had now been fully vaccinated and was scheduled to be desexed in October, the post said.
Catty was allowed to stay on the condition she "lives outside as rodent control" - but it seems she spends most of the day in the main reception area greeting visitors.

Staff had quickly taken to their new furry friend, with several people vying to be the one to keep her when the project wraps up.
"She has travelled extensively already having spent Queens Birthday Weekend at her batch in Whangamata and a regular visitor at her weekend retreat in Cambridge.
"More recently she spent a weekend at Hillsborough, Auckland."
Her favourite foods were tinned red salmon and pet milk, and her favourite toys are orange rubber thimbles from Officemax.
The post had been shared more than 30 times and liked nearly 250 times.
Comments congratulated the team for taking her in, as well as poking a bit of light hearted fun.
"Where the Hi Viz jacket and Hat [sic]," one person asked.
"She is on a work site! Boots too, be bit muddy up there, strobe light and squarker for the moments she in high danger situation [sic]."
Earlier this year the British public voted overwhelmingly in favour of calling a polar research vessel Boaty McBoatface, but the name was deemed unsuitable by the UK's science minister.
