A cat "handed itself in" to police after two weeks on the run and having travelled nearly 20 kilometres.
Rubiks wandered into the Lower Hutt police station yesterday, a long way from his Mt Cook, Wellington, home.
Staff called the SPCA who checked Rubiks' microchip and contacted his, rather relieved, owner Felicity Donaldson who had no idea how he had found his way to Lower Hutt.
It was the second time he'd gone missing, the first excursion lasting six weeks and ending in Kilbirnie.
