Charlie the cat has found a different hobby from his regular collection of dead rats and birds -- egg poaching.
No, he is not into poaching eggs in boiling water for breakfast. Charlie's into stealing freshly laid eggs from the neighbour's property, The Dominion Post reported.
Gisborne couple Frank and Cheryl Amor have woken up every day to find fresh chicken eggs on their back doorstep, apparently carried there by their burmese cat.
At first it was a mystery but they later realised Charlie was the egg bearer.
"I was standing in the kitchen and I saw Charlie. He looked up at me, put his head down and this egg rolled out of his mouth."
Charlie has delivered about a dozen eggs from the neighbour's free range hens.
Mrs Amor said she was taking the eggs back before the neighbour took exception.
