Hundreds of dollars' worth of goods have been stolen from a Masterton sports store by an acrobatic burglar.
The thief, who was captured on CCTV cameras, climbed an internal wall in the Mastermall building on Queen St. He then crawled across a reinforcing pipe to gain access to Trev's Sports, risking a 4-metre drop in the process.
Owner Quentin Henderson said the footage showed a young man falling into the store, narrowly missing several skateboards, about 9pm last Friday.
He then proceeded to steal about $1500 worth of goods, including shoes, hoodies and T-shirts. "He's monkeyed across. It's a 4m drop."
Mr Henderson said he realised there had been a break-in after noticing the marks left on the wall.
