Auckland firefighters were called to rescue not one, but two cats stuck up a tree this morning.
Northern fire communications shift manager Paul Radden says its Manurewa brigade was sent to Glenveagh Park Drive to a report of a cat and her kitten stuck up the tree about 9.30am.
Manurewa Fire Brigade station officer Shane Munro says they were initially told the cats were about "20m" up a tree.
However, by the time they arrived the cat had made its way down but her kitten was still stuck about 6m or 7m up the owner's neighbour's tree.
Mr Munro says the rescue was quick and easy and done by "rookie" firefighter Evan Marsh.
