SIZZLING temperatures with a high of 29C in Masterton yesterday saw families taking to the beach to enjoy the last week of school holidays.
Beach-goers were camping at Castlepoint Holiday Park, building sand castles on the beach and going fishing.
Manager of Castlepoint Holiday Park Kerry Ellis said despite some guests having to head back to work last Sunday many families were still out camping. "We've still got 15 sites at the moment," Mr Ellis said.
He said the weather at the beach was phenomenal and families were enjoying spending the day out there.
"It's gorgeous out here at the moment, everyone's just walking down the beach and playing on the beach. It's Castlepoint at it's best."
