Sky City Casino says it is confident about the security of people in its carpark despite an abduction there.
A Chinese student, believed to be in his 20s, was abducted soon after 9.30am from the carpark yesterday and subjected to a two-hour ordeal.
The victim was forced into his own vehicle, driven around Auckland, forced to withdraw $700 from an ATM machine and dumped in suburban Mt Roskill. He then went to the Mt Albert Pak'n Save to notify police.
The incident raised questions about the security of the carparks, which some employees believed could be targeted by criminals wanting to rob casino winners.
The company yesterday refused to discuss Saturday's incident directly as police were still investigating.
However, in a statement the business said it was happy with security and believed police would let them know whether there were any concerns.
Spokeswoman Megan McSweeney said: "We have over 130 trained security staff operating 24/7. This means that, at any one time, there are over 20 dedicated security staff operating on site."
The company also said it would act immediately to work with police to address any security concerns that did arise from the investigation.
"We have around 12,500 people through our premises on any given day," said Ms McSweeney. "The safety and security of our staff and customers is a priority and underpins all our operations."
Inquiry head Detective Sergeant Joe Aumua said potential criminals realised there was a good chance any illegal activity in the carparks would be caught on security cameras.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. A second man was helping police.
