Carterton Rugby Club will celebrate their old-timer's day on Saturday with the entertainment starting with pre-luncheon refreshments in the late morning followed by a tree planting ceremony to commemorate members who have passed away.
Then will follow two interclub matches between Carterton and Greytown-Tuhirangi teams, the president's grade fixture kicking off at 1pm and the premier division match at 2.30pm. The latter will see the Grant Trophy and Reid Cup at stake with Carterton having held the former for the last seven years.
The Robin Elers Memorial Cup will be up for grabs when Marist and Masterton Red Star meet in the feature game at Memorial Park and that match will be controlled by Wellington referee Ian Dallas, who will be in Wairarapa as part of an exchange between Wellington and Wairarapa-Bush referees.
