Carterton residents concerned at the death of toddler Hinewaoriki Karaitiana-Matiaha will get the chance to air their feelings at a public march and rally in the town this weekend.
It is now more than a month since the 23-month old was sexually abused and killed.
No one has been arrested in connection with her murder.
The rally on Sunday is being supported by the Wairarapa Women's Refuge.
Spokeswoman Lorraine Hooper says following Hine's death there is a lot of tension in the family and also distress in the wider community.
Police say they are doing all they can in the investigation but are still waiting on the results of forensic tests.
