Carterton District Council is inviting residents to attend a consultation meeting on the Waiohine Floodplain Plan on Thursday, June 30.
The Waiohine Floodplain Management Plan has been proposed to take into account flood risk levels as well as the economic, recreational, cultural and environmental needs of the communities who live and work around the Waiohine River.
Greater Wellington Regional Council recently sent out an information booklet on the proposed plan to all households whose properties are located near the Waiohine River.
Carterton District Council representative for the Waiohine Advisory Committee, councillor Mike Ashby, said all potentially affected property owners were invited to attend the meeting.
"It is always great to hear from property owners. Councillors will be in attendance on June 30 to listen to any concerns raised."
