Carterton Swimming Club dominated the medal count at the Hawke's Bay meet held in Waipukerau on Sunday.
The club's 17-strong team came away with a stunning 72 medals, 34 gold, 18 silver and 20 bronze.
And they produced five of the individual age group winners, Dallas Swaneveld with 62 points in the
9-year boys, Bella Biggs with 67 in the 11-year girls, Taylah Mawson with 73 in the 12-years girls, Talia Hullena with 67 in the girls 15-years and over and Joe Hammond with 67 in the boys 15-years and over.
Also making the top three were Will McMaster who was third in the boys 19-years section with 49 points, Logan Barham who was second in the boys 13-years division with 57 and Trina Simmonds who was runner-up in the 15-years girls and over grade with 41.
McMaster qualified for the national junior championships in the 50m and 100m backstroke and Amy TeMaro likewise in the 200m backstroke. Michael Hammond qualified for the national division two championships in the 50m backstroke.
The most personal best times from the Carterton contingent were recorded by Anthony Prince while the biggest improvements in time came from Dallas Swaneveld, who improved his previous best time in the 100m breaststroke by 4.88secs and by Jessie Parker whose 50m backstroke time was 4.49secs lower than she had managed before.
Parker is new to competitive swimming and had the thrill of returning home with a silver in the 50m backstroke and a bronze in the 100m freestyle while other relative newcomers to take the eye were Katherine Williams, Sam Hammond and Kaden Saywell.
