Carterton info board gets a new home

Carterton's community noticeboard is on the move.

The electronic noticeboard near the Carrington Park toilets will be moving to the northern exit of the New World carpark near Pembroke St.

Carterton District councillor and Placemaking working group member Greg Lang said the existing location of the noticeboard meant notices were sometimes hard to see.

The sign was not designed to welcome visitors to the town but to provide community information to residents, Mr Lang said.

The new location would also allow people more time to read the notices safely.

A date and cost for the move was still to be confirmed.
