Two elderly women were left shaken but apparently uninjured when their four-wheel drive crashed into a plate-glass window at upmarket department store Kirkaldie and Stains in cental Wellington this afternoon.
Witnesses said it appeared the women had been parking in a disabled spot outside the store in Brandon St when the vehicle lurched forward.
It careered across the footpath and through the window into a cosmetics display.
A courier who saw the incident told APNZ a woman who was walking on the footpath was hit by the vehicle.
"I don't think she broke anything, it hit her in the side."
