KEY POINTS:
Police have seized three cars in the hunt for the killer of hit-and-run victim Sangje Lee.
The 18-year-old South Korean student was run over as he camped out in a Whangarei car park overnight March 5 to buy tickets for the Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert. He died from internal bleeding hours after.
Detective Sergeant Rob Huys said yesterday several cars had been seized as police hunt for the driver of the vehicle.
The car has been described as a dark-grey Nissan Skyline with two occupants, but Mr Huys said the public should contact police if they saw any vehicle acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
He said about 20 people had contacted police with information about vehicles so far.
Police have also been scouring shop surveillance tapes, and are keen to hear from any businesses they haven't already contacted in the Commerce St, Reyburn St and Port Rd area who might have street-facing video footage.
Mr Huys said he was confident police would find whoever was responsible for the death.
"The file will remain open until it's solved," he said.
