An orchard worker carjacked in Waihi last weekend is still in a critical condition at Waikato Hospital.
Sukhjinder Singh, a 21-year-old Katikati kiwifruit worker, was allegedly abducted by two 15-year-olds outside a party and forced to drive to McDonald's in Paeroa.
Singh, two 15-year-old boys and two 14-year-old girls were taken to hospital after his car crashed near Waihi early on Saturday.
Singh, whose family are in India, is still in intensive care. One of the 15-year-olds is in a "comfortable" condition in a ward.
The other 15-year-old and one of the girls were discharged last weekend. The other 14-year-old is still in Tauranga Hospital.
Police have not laid any charges. Waihi Detective Sergeant Glenn Tinsley said they had yet to interview the three in hospital.
"We're just really pleased that the victim is showing signs of improvement."
