KEY POINTS:
An intellectually handicapped woman who was picked up on Wellington's motorway by a taxi early this morning has been returned home.
Police made a public appeal for the woman's caregivers to come forward after she was found with no identification today.
A Wellington police communications centre spokesman said she had now been returned to her home in Porirua.
