One of the teenagers involved in the killing of Waitara man Kenneth Pigott has been released on home detention, and is planning a career as a beautician.
In 2002, Kararaina Makere Te Rauna, then aged 14, pleaded guilty to 60-year-old Pigott's manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years and nine months prison.
Pigott, a truck driver, was beaten to death.
