KEY POINTS:
A Glen Eden man has been sentenced after trying to run down two Auckland Ministry of Fisheries staff.
Patrick Hurae Tobin, 41, was sentenced in the Auckland District Court to nine months' supervision and 75 hours' community work.
Tobin was also ordered to attend an anger management programme and to pay each of the fishery officers $150. Tobin, a director of Toby's Seafoods, was found guilty at a jury trial of assault with a weapon, namely a car.
The ministry says the assault happened in 2007 after Tobin's brother, Craig, 35, was arrested for obstructing fishery officers and his truck was taken to its Auckland office. Both brothers still face numerous charges under the Fisheries Act.
