A man charged with unlawfully taking a dead man's car and using his credit card has been remanded to reappear in court next month.
George Warena, 28, faced 22 charges, including unlawfully taking Edward Hinchcliff's white Mazda Familia station wagon and using his credit card.
He appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday.
Mr Hinchcliff, 24, son of former Auckland city councillor and Auckland University of Technology vice-chancellor John Hinchcliff, collapsed in central Auckland in February.
He died in hospital of a large brain aneurism.
