Police investigating the shooting of a man in the head with a crossbow have found a car they believe is connected to the case.
Northland police communications officer Sarah Kennett said police were talking to the driver of the car and inquiries into the incident were continuing.
A 29-year-old man was shot in the head with a crossbow through an open car window during an argument on Sunday.

The man was recovering from surgery in Auckland Hospital after undergoing emergency brain surgery, Ms Kennett said.

The man and his brother had started to drive off when a bolt was fired from a crossbow through the open car window into his forehead.
Ambulance staff found the man by the car.
